Chef’s Corner

Paul Granados – Executive Chef

Growing up in a large family, Paul’s interest in food started young. In high school, he worked in an entry level job at a local restaurant. The experience piqued his interest in cooking. During a high school cooking class, Paul enjoyed the challenge of competing with classmates using ingredients from mystery baskets, much like shows you see on the Cooking Channel today. His instructor told Paul, “You have something in you that comes natural.”

Little did Paul know that his interest in the culinary world would develop into a very rewarding career. Starting as a server at The Fountains at Sea Bluffs while in high school, Paul learned “front of the house” skills. His mentors soon recognized his drive and talent. Paul then attended the Culinary Arts Program where he gained his formal education.

Working as a Chef with three others in the kitchen at The Fountains, Paul mastered sauces, soups, entrées, appetizers, dressings, cuts of meat and desserts. Since being promoted to Executive Chef in 2010, Paul has overall responsibility for serving meals to more than 200 residents daily. Well into his second decade at The Fountains, Paul continues to achieve new goals, to create exciting, seasonal menus and to exceed the expectations of a sophisticated clientele.
